The Story
(04)↗︎Born into gold
My story starts long before me. In 1945 my grandfather's family moved to Bahrain, and through the 1950s he travelled to Saudi Arabia creating jewellery for the Saudi royal family. In 1969 the family settled in Dubai and opened a store in the historic Gold Souk. That store is still open today.
I was born in Dubai in 1998, the fifth generation of that legacy. I grew up between the school gate and the workshop bench, watching raw gold become something people cried over, celebrated with and passed down to their children. That never left me.
I studied Industrial Economics at the University of Nottingham in the UK, then went deep into the craft itself: a Colored Stones diploma from GIA and Diamond Grading certification from IGI. Business on one side, gemology on the other.
Why I build
I started DIAN because I saw a gap between what jewellery is and what it could mean. People weren't just buying gold, they were buying moments. So I built a brand where every piece starts with a story, not a stock design.
I'm obsessed with creating products people have never seen before. The Gold Note exists because nobody had made one. The concepts I post exist because nobody expected them. If it already exists, it doesn't excite me. Innovation isn't a strategy for me, it's the whole point.
Away from the bench, I played cricket professionally. I was selected for the Dubai Under-19 team and was in the first intake at the ICC Academy, coached by legends like Mudassar Nazar and Aqib Javed, and later trained at the Darren Lehmann Cricket Academy in Australia. I also play the harmonium and love Indian classical and fusion music. And I'm currently engaged, preparing for my wedding.
Discipline from sport. Feeling from music. Craft from family. That's the mix behind everything I make.
